Earn the 3 Cybersecurity badges the Kids Can Code way! Girls should use 2 devices (a laptop/desktop for website work & a mobile device for Zoom) to participate in interactive cybersecurity activities.
Girls will complete the following projects:
Badge 1- Cybersecurity Basics: Learn how computers & the internet work and how they can safely connect us through interactive Kahoots!
Badge 2- Cybersecurity Safeguards: Use games and websites to learn how to stay safe online & how to protect your identity. Create usernames and safe passwords and identify types of cyberbullying.
Badge 3- Cybersecurity Investigation: Explore cybercrimes through interactive games that will put your cybersecurity skills to the test! Practice cracking codes with an online game. Then write your own computer code!
Program Location: Virtual - Zoom
Program Date/Time: July 24th, 2024; 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Program Fees: $30/Girl Scout
Additional Details:
All 3 Cybersecurity badges will be provided for each registered Girl Scout girl at the conclusion of the program.
This program is for 2023-24 registered Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors.
Virtual event - Adults do not need to stay, but should be nearby in case of any technical issues.
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing (email) before July 18th, 2024. You will receive confirmation via email if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit card account used at the time of purchase.
