At Girl Scouts, we know that when given the opportunity, girls can change the world, and we have the reach and experience to help girls everywhere lead. Girl Scouts of Gateway Council will make every effort to ensure that no girl is denied participation in our Girl Scout Leadership Program due to a lack of funds. Gateway Council offers limited Financial Aid (FA) for girls who qualify due to financial hardship.
Financial Aid is available to first-time Girl Scouts and provides them with $25 Membership Registration with GSUSA and/or Girl Scout Starter Kit, which includes:
*Items will be mailed to each recipient from our office.
To apply for Financial Aid, please follow the steps below:
As part of the Girl Leadership Experience, girls participate in the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program and Sweets & Treats, which teach girls financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills. As a recipient of Financial Aid, participation in these two programs secures another year of scouting for your girl by covering the cost of next year's membership, troop event participation, fees, and other supplies.
As a caregiver to the recipient of Financial Aid, we encourage you to pay it forward by donating your time. Whether you have one hour to offer or many, Girl Scouts has a volunteer opportunity for you. There are various volunteer opportunities that fit a variety of interests, and we ask that you volunteer at a council-sponsored event during the Girl Scout year.
Financial Aid can only be requested by a caregiver. While troop leaders can certainly assist with the completion of forms, Gateway Council only accepts requests that have been signed and completed by a caregiver.
