In this fun and exciting camp training, you will be introduced to all things camping, from preparing your girls for the outdoor experience to planning and budgeting for the overnight trip, as well as learning some basic outdoor cooking skills and recipes. You'll learn about important safety procedures and council policies involved with making your trip a success.
This overnight session will complete your GSGC Camp Training, enabling you to guide girls on day, overnight or multi-night outdoor experiences beyond the council properties, such as at state parks, established campgrounds or back-country camping.
Any registered volunteers within a troop may be designated as the Troop Outdoor Coordinator and complete this training.
* All attendees must be registered approved volunteers for the
2020-21 membership year.
* Volunteers must re-certify their
outdoor skills every three years.
* For safety and supervision
reasons, youth and other non-participants are not permitted at this training.
