Catch the wind and set sail on beautiful McCarthy Lake as you dive
into the basics of sailing! Learn how to read the wind, tack, jibe,
and steer like a pro-all while having an absolute blast. Hop into one
of our Optimus Prams and feel the thrill of the breeze in your sails
as you navigate the water with confidence and fun!
Girls who complete this session will receive the Sailing 1 training strip.
Participants will be assigned cabins/tents by session. Chaperones will be assigned to available cabins/tents once all girls have been placed in units. Troops who have participants in different sessions will most likely be in separate sleeping units.

Additional Details:
To maximize girl participation, chaperone openings are limited. Please note that adults signing up for this program will only participate with the boats if there is availability. The aquatics program is designed for girl scouts to grow their love for the outdoors. Adults will be placed in separate cabins/tents from the girls. The adult fee does however includes food and lodging for the weekend. Please feel free to bring busy work or a nice book to enjoy lakeside.

This program is for 2025-26 registered Girl Scout girls and 2025-26 registered and background-checked adults.
For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or siblings.
Girl/adult ratios must be followed unless otherwise indicated in the program description. Adults are expected to stay on the premises
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing (email) before April 24, 2026. You will receive confirmation via email if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit card account used at the time of purchase.
