Ready to take your paddling skills to the next level and get your troop on the water? Join our Gateway Canoe Instructor Training and learn how to lead safe, fun, and skill-building canoeing experiences for your Girl Scouts! In this hands-on course, you'll dive deep into paddling techniques, group management, safety protocols, and rescue skills-all while building the confidence to teach others.
Program Location: Camp Kateri, 183 Camp Shalom Drive ,Hawthorne, FL, 32640
Program Date/Time: April 24, 2026 at 6 PM to April 26, 2025 at 12pm; Eastern Standard Time
Program Fees: $70/Girl Scout, $70/adult
Additional Details:
*As part of the Gateway certification process to supervise these activities, participants in Canoeing, must also help facilitate a Canoeing program during Aquatics Weekend at Camp Kateri. The Gateway certification is not complete until you have facilitated at Aquatics.
*Fees include meals and session materials; eat dinner before arriving Friday evening.
*Must be at least 16 years old.
*This program is for 2025-26 registered Girl Scout girls and 2023-24 registered and background-checked adults.
*For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or siblings.
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing (email) before Aug. 29, 2025. You will receive confirmation via email if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit card account used at the time of purchase.
