Ready to take your paddling skills to the next level and get your
troop on the water? Join our Gateway Kayak Instructor Training and
learn how to lead safe, fun, and skill-building kayaking experiences
for your Girl Scouts! In this hands-on course, you'll dive deep into
paddling techniques, group management, safety protocols, and rescue
skills-all while building the confidence to teach others.
The Outdoor Training Extravaganza is an annual weekend for
volunteers and older Girl Scouts with the mission of all participants
receiving training in an outdoor skill. As part of the Gateway
certification process, participants in Kayaking, must also help
facilitate a Kayaking program during Aquatics Weekend at Camp
Kateri. The Gateway certification is not complete until you have
facilitated at Aquatics.
* Fees include meals and session materials; eat dinner before
arriving Friday evening.

Details:
This program is for 2025-26 registered and
background-checked adults.
For safety and supervision reasons,
troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or
siblings.
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing
(email) before April 12, 2026. You will receive confirmation via email
if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to
weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance,
you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of
registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program
will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the
option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at
the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit
card account used at the time of purchase.
