Alachua County Environmental Protection Department, Florida Springs Institute, and other partners will be hosting a fun morning at the springs! Learn about manatees, springs ecology, and how to contribute to their protection through citizen science! Activities will satisfy some requirements towards the Think Like a Citizen Scientist Journey.
Program Location: Manatee Springs State Park; 11650 NW 115th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626
Program Date/Time: Saturday, January 10th, 2026; 9 AM - 11 AM Eastern Time
Program Fees: $10/Girl Scout, $0/Adult
There is a $6 per vehicle entrance fee into the park.
Additional Details:
A manatee fun patch will be provided for each registered Girl Scout girl at the conclusion of the program.
Girl/adult ratios must be followed. Adults are expected to stay on the premises.
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing (email) before Close Date. You will receive confirmation via email if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit card account used at the time of purchase.
