This certification builds on the core skills taught in the Gateway Council's Kayak Instructor course-but with a big bonus: it's nationally recognized and listed in the Girl Scouts' Safety Activity Checkpoints. As a certified PSF, adult volunteers can lead kayaking adventures for Brownies through Ambassadors on flat, calm lakes near the shore.

Program Fees: $90/adult (50.00 paid to GSGC and 40.00 paid to ACA for membership fees)
Additional Details:
ACA yearly membership is required in order to recieve the certification. You must show proof of membership when you arrive at Camp Kateri to take the class. When you register for this GSGC will only be collecting the 50.00 fee for class.
This program is for 2025-26 registered Girl Scout girls and 2025-26 registered and background-checked adults.
For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or siblings.
Girl/adult ratios must be followed unless otherwise indicated in the program description. Adults are expected to stay on the premises.
Cancellation and Refunds:
All cancellation and refund requests must be received in writing (email) before April 12, 2026. You will receive confirmation via email if the request has been approved. If the program is cancelled due to weather, low registration numbers or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be notified via email to the email listed at the time of registration. Plans to reschedule, postpone, or cancel the program will be included in this email. All registrants will be given the option to reschedule (if option is available) or receive a refund at the time of cancellation. Refunds may only be credited to the credit card account used at the time of purchase.
