Girl Scouts of Gateway Council proudly welcomes Tracie Davis as Vice President of Major Gifts. A Jacksonville native and dedicated public servant, Davis brings a wealth of experience in education, government, and community engagement to her new role, where she will lead efforts to secure major philanthropic support for Girl Scouts across North Florida.
Davis has an extensive background in education, elections, and business management. She began her career as a special education teacher with Duval County Public Schools before transitioning into public service. From 2016 to 2022, she served in the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 13, and in 2022, she was elected to the Florida Senate, where she currently represents District 5. She is set to become the Senate Minority Leader in 2026.
Throughout her career, Davis has been a passionate advocate for youth development, education, and community enrichment. Her leadership has helped connect families to critical resources through partnerships with organizations such as Northeast Florida Healthy Start, JaxPort, JTA, Florida Blue, Duval County Public Schools, and Operation New Hope. She has also played an instrumental role in mentoring programs like Year Up, AMI Kids, and Youth Leadership Jacksonville.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tracie Davis to the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council team,” said Wendy Dordel, CEO of Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. “Her deep commitment to education and community service, along with her proven leadership in building impactful partnerships, will be invaluable as we work to expand opportunities for girls across our council. We look forward to the incredible impact she will make in advancing our mission.”
Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Edward Waters University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida. In recognition of her contributions to the community, Edward Waters University has honored her with a Doctorate of Humane Letters.
As Vice President of Major Gifts, Davis will focus on strengthening relationships with donors and community partners to further the mission of Girl Scouts: building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
