Girl Scouts of Gateway Council features four beautiful properties available for troops, Girl Scout members, families, friends, and community partners to rent.

Camp Kateri in Hawthorne, FL, 30 minutes southeast of Gainesville, spans 550 acres with archery, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, hiking and exploration.

Camp Kugelman is located on Perdido Bay in Lillian, AL, and offers air-conditioned dormitory-style accommodations.

Leadership Center

The GSGC Leadership Center in Jacksonville, FL, is a 1,400-square-foot hub for workshops, overnights, trainings, troop meetings, and volunteer development. Reservations open in September.

Little House

Fernandina Beach Little House offers comfortable troop lodging near historic downtown, Fort Clinch, and the beach, with sleeping space for 16, a kitchen, and amenities.

How to Reserve a GSGC Property

Visit our Campspot booking page.
Enter your preferred dates and number of guests and then click search to view available properties.
Once you have decided on an available property, complete the registration process, and pay your deposit.
Your final balance is due two weeks prior to your reservation start date.

Considerations for All Properties

1. Complete a Troop Trip Application for stays at camp properties. This allows GSGC to verify adult memberships and that adults hold required certifications for requested activities.

2. Hold current First Aid/ CPR certification prior to reservation start date.

3. Complete any additional required outdoor trainings, as outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints. Here’s a brief snapshot of required trainings, please review SAC for full criteria:

Overnight stays at camp: At least one adult that has a current Gateway Camp Training certification.
Swimming in the pool, bay, or lake: Lifeguard certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, YMCA Lifeguard, or with equivalent experience, and at least water watcher should be present.
Canoeing on the lake: One adult with American Canoe Association (ACA) Paddlesports Safety Facilitator certification in canoeing AND completion of a flat-water canoe safety and rescue skills course OR ACA Level 1: Introduction to Canoeing Instructor or higher OR Girl Scouts of Gateway Council’s Small Craft Safety Training (can be obtained at OTEX) OR American Red Cross Lifeguarding with Waterfront Module OR instructor with demonstrated equivalent experience in line with above credentials (Council approval required).
Kayaking on the lake: One adult with American Canoe Association (ACA) Paddlesports Safety Facilitator certification in kayaking and completion of a Flatwater Kayak Safety and Rescue skills course OR ACA Level 1: Introduction to Kayaking Instructor or higher OR Girl Scouts of Gateway Council’s Small Craft Safety Training (can be obtained at OTEX) OR American Red Cross Lifeguarding with Waterfront Module OR Instructor with the demonstrated equivalent experience in line with these credentials (Council approval required)
Archery: One adult certified by the National Field Archery Association, USA Archery, or Easton Foundation.
Dining Hall reservation: One adult with a Florida Food Handler certification.

4. Please note failure to complete the necessary trainings for your reservation may result in forfeiture of your deposit if not obtained prior to the cancellation deadline.

5. Outside groups that are non-members are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance prior to their reservation start date.

Property Rental Terms and Conditions toggle arrow

By completing a reservation, the renting individual/group/organization (“Renter”) agrees to the following terms for use of any Girl Scouts of Gateway Council camp property or facility (“Council Facility”).

1. Eligibility & Group Responsibility

The Renter must designate an adult (age 21+) as the responsible party for the reservation.

The responsible party must be onsite for the duration of the stay.

The Renter assumes full responsibility for all participants, guests, and visitors.

Girl Scout groups must comply with all Volunteer Essentials, Safety Activity Checkpoints, Adult- Girl Ratio guidelines, and Girl Scouts of Gateway Council policies while using the camp property or facility for the duration of their reservation.

2. Reservations, Payments & Cancellations

50% of reservation payment is due at the time of booking.

The full balance is due two weeks prior to the reservation.

For a full refund reservations must be canceled with 30 days notice from the date of check-in.

The Council reserves the right to cancel reservations due to safety concerns, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances.

3. Permitted Use of Council Facilities

Use of Council Facilities must align with the mission and values of Girl Scouts.

Only reserved areas noted in the property reservation may be used.

Shared spaces noted in the reservation packet must be used respectfully and cooperatively and left better than they were found.

Capacity limits must be followed at all times.

4. Supervision & Safety Requirements

Renter must provide adequate adult supervision for all girl participants according to Volunteer Essentials.

At least one adult trained in First Aid/CPR must be onsite at all times.

Renter is responsible for:

First aid supplies

Emergency transportation

Participant safety and behavior

All activities must follow applicable safety standards, including Girl Scout Safety Activity Checkpoints where applicable.

5. Insurance Requirements

Non–Girl Scout groups must provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) with:

Minimum $1,000,000 general liability coverage

Council listed as additional insured

Additional insurance may be required for mixed groups or special activities

6. Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in and check-out times will be provided in reservation packet materials.

Early arrival or late departure must be approved in advance.

A walkthrough inspection may be required at check-out.

Renter must complete all required checkout procedures prior to departure. These are included in reservation packet.

7. Property Use, Care & Cleaning

Facilities must be left clean and in the same condition as found.

Renter is responsible for:

Trash removal

Cleaning of all used spaces

Providing personal supplies (linens, toiletries, paper goods, etc.)

Damage beyond normal wear and tear will be billed to the Renter.

8. Vehicles & Access

Vehicle use is restricted to designated roads and parking areas only.

Vehicle limits may apply at specific sites.

Gates must remain secured at all times.

9. Prohibited Items & Activities

The following are prohibited on all Council Facilities:

Alcoholic beverages

Illegal drugs

Weapons, firearms, or explosives

Smoking or vaping

Unauthorized fires or hazardous activities

Personal electric heaters or similar high-risk equipment

10. Animals

Only service animals, as defined by applicable law, are permitted on Council property. Pets are prohibited.

11. Activity-Specific Requirements

Certain activities (e.g., waterfront use, boating, archery, swimming, etc.) may:

Require advance reservation and approval

Require certified instructors, lifeguards, or additional supervision

Renter agrees to comply with all applicable safety standards, certifications, and supervision ratios for any activity conducted as outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints.

12. Emergency Procedures

Renter must review and communicate emergency procedures with all participants. Emergency procedures are located in the reservation packet.

In case of emergency:

Call 911

Notify Council staff immediately

Renter is responsible for incident reporting and cooperation with emergency responders.

13. Compliance with Laws & Policies

Renter agrees to comply with all local, state, and federal laws.

Renter must follow all Council policies, procedures, and posted rules.

14. Right to Deny or Terminate Use

The Council reserves the right to deny access or terminate a reservation for:

Violation of these Terms & Conditions

Unsafe or disruptive behavior

No refunds will be issued in such cases.

15. Force Majeure

The Council is not liable for cancellations or disruptions caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to:

Severe weather

Natural disasters

Public health emergencies

Utility outages

16. Personal Property

The Council is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

17. Assumption of Risk & Liability

Renter acknowledges that outdoor activities involve inherent risks.

Renter assumes full responsibility for participants and guests.

Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Girl Scouts of Gateway Council from any claims, damages, or injuries arising from use of Council Facilities.

18. Agreement

By completing a reservation, the Renter:

Acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions

Accepts responsibility for all participants and guests

Agrees to comply with all Council policies and procedures

Cancellations by Renter

Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to the check-in date are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to check-in are non-refundable.
Reservations may be canceled through Campspot up to two (2) weeks prior to the reservation start date.
For cancellations made within two (2) weeks of the reservation, renters must email customercare@gsgateway.org to process the cancellation.

Cancellations by Council
The Council reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to safety concerns, emergencies, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.

Eligibility for Refunds

Reservations canceled 30 days or more prior to the check-in date are eligible for a full refund, including any deposit paid.

Reservations canceled less than 30 days prior to check-in are non-refundable.

Processing of Refunds

Approved refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.

Please allow 7–10 business days for refunds to be processed after confirmation of cancellation.

Partial Payments & No-Shows

If the full balance has not been paid by the two-week deadline, the reservation may be canceled and any payments made may be forfeited.

No-shows or failure to arrive on the scheduled check-in date will result in forfeiture of all payments.

Council-Initiated Cancellations

If a reservation is canceled by the Council due to safety concerns, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.

Alcohol is never permitted on any Gateway Council property.

Policy for Girl Scout Groups:
All tobacco products (including vapor, dip, cigarettes, etc.) are to be used out of sight of all girls and no closer than 50 feet from their location. All products must be placed in a fire-safe container (such as a can with water) prior to placing into the trash. Location must be clean of all tobacco products prior to rejoining the girls. The girl-adult ratio must be maintained in your absence.

Fire Ban Procedures toggle arrow

In the event a fire ban is enforced in the state or county, Girl Scouts of Gateway Council will adhere to the following procedure: There will be no open fires at Camp Kugelman, Camp Kateri, or the Fernandina Beach Little House. Campers may use the fixed charcoal grills or a self-contained grill with charcoal as long as it is kept inside the fire circle.

Refrigeration Unit Procedure toggle arrow

For Girl Scout Groups:
Thermometers are available for each refrigeration unit. Chef-trained supervisors and/or camp-trained volunteers should monitor the temperature of the refrigeration unit upon arrival at camp and at least daily during camp stay. Notify camp ranger if temperature exceeds 40°F. Ice chests or coolers for cookouts or temporary food storage should be monitored for safe temperatures. Any “potentially hazardous food” stored in ice chests may not be returned to the kitchen.

For Outside Groups:
Thermometers are available for each refrigeration unit. Notify camp ranger if temperature exceeds 40°F.

Review Safety Activity Checkpoints for guidelines on camping and outdoor activities for girls and adults. Gateway Council requires that at least one adult in the troop has completed Gateway Camp Training to participate in overnight camping. Outdoor activities such as boating, swimming, and archery have additional training requirements.
